Let’s try to shed some light on this….
for one thing, biblically, the serpent is never identified as Satan, although Satan is called a serpent at least once in scripture we cannot assume he was the serpent as he is never associated with it directly…
it has been assumed that Satan perhaps controlled the serpent but that is just more unfounded speculation…if Satan was in fact the serpent than at some point he would have been identified as such, as scripture has no problem identifying Satan in other roles.
Satan was ‘ not ‘ the serpent. Nowhere in all of the scriptures is Satan ever identified as the serpent.
Secondly, Adam and Eve were not ignorant…they were naive…like children…eg. as a child doesn’t know right from wrong, is unaware of what will hurt them or assist them…
so…original sin was in fact: disobedience
and this disobedience, presumably, made them no longer naive…they became ‘ aware ‘ for themselves…
eg. a child will run around the house naked completely oblivious to being naked…but at some point in life that child becomes aware of being naked and starts to feel embarrassed by it.
Presumably this is what happened, when they disobeyed god. They became ‘ aware ‘.
Once they became aware they were prevented from becoming immortal ‘ like us ‘ ( which goes to the other post in the other thread I made ).
